Liam Payne, 31, Passes Away

Former One Direction singer, Liam Payne, has tragically died at the age of 31.

According to local authorities, Payne fell from the third floor of his hotel room, landing in the courtyard of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Wednesday, 16 October. 

He had checked into the hotel two days prior after his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, returned home to Miami, Florida.

When paramedics arrived, they declared the British singer dead on the spot, noting that he had sustained “extremely serious injuries” in the fall.

Earlier that afternoon, police had received an emergency call from the hotel “about an aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”

As part of the ongoing investigation, an autopsy is scheduled to be carried out to determine the circumstances surrounding Payne’s death – specifically, if the fall was accidental or intentional.

Friends and fans alike have since taken to social media to pay tribute to the “Live Forever” hitmaker, who gained fame in 2010 as a member of One Direction until the popular boy band went on hiatus in 2015.

Payne is survived by his seven-year-old son, Bear, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Cheryl Cole. He is also survived by his parents, Karen and Geoff, as well as sisters Ruth and Nicola.
